About Cellulite

In general about 80% of all women are affected by cellulite. The cause for cellulite is the connective skin structure and its reaction to female hormones. Female skin has more elasticity and more fat cells in the sub-dermal tissue. Collagen fibers, responsible for tissue-support, are arranged parallel in female tissue, male collagen fibers are arranged in a net structure. In general the total numbers of fat cells do not vary. Depending on nutrition habits the volume of fat cell can increase. Therefore these growing fat cells squeeze through the parallel-arranged collagen fibres and become visible on the skin´s surface.
